Beauport is at home in the Canadian waterways.  I was fortunate to have been invited to cruise the "inside passage" of Canada in 2005, while Cliff was aboard as an Engineer. 

The Canadian Wilderness Areas are astonishingly beautiful, wild and remote.  We sailed from Campbell River to a dozen shallow  inlets, harbors and small ports.  We saw sunsets so beautiful and inspiring, making you not want to miss a moment in order to fetch the camera.  We saw, at close range, a bear "rolling rocks" .  He was fishing for dinner. 

This experience was the beginning of an idea.  Could I too, actually work on a small ship?  Hmmm!

                                         Beauport - the Owners

Carlos and Vicki are the owners of Beauport and although not always onboard are always present in our thoughts.  Their kind and caring attitude toward the "crew" lends itself  to a family style of living on Beauport.  Carlos is always anxious that the crew be able to enjoy the adventure of life at sea and encourages time for snorkeling, sailing, diving etc.  Vicki brightens everyones day with hugs and compliments to make you feel good about you.

Let me just say this about small shipboard life and the people who choose to be there.   They are phenomenally out of the ordinary, with an instinctive understanding of what teamwork really means.   Captain Michael Parks builds teams and crewmembers that are extraordinarily connected. 

Of the original cast of main characters, Michael, Robbie, Cliff, Rebecca and Brandon, who spent the better parts of two years aboard Beauport,  and bonded with a strength unseen in most occupations.
